I did it! I read #1, "Twilight"

I did it! I took the nudgings of several people to read "Twilight" and I can honestly say it really captivated me! What is it about the lure of the "dark side" that I seem to find intriguing? I was captivated by the way that Edward drew Bella in in the beginning and then as they really and honestly got to know each other, I realized that both of them were seeing deeper than the surface -- they were seeing deep inside of each other.

Isn't that what we are supposed to do with our fellow men? Aren't we supposed to see beyond the exterior into the heart of the other? I couldn't help try to analyze the deeper meanings of this very strange relationship in the mind of the author. Knowing that she is LDS made me think of all sorts of reasons for her story line.

She certainly did her homework in learning all about the myths of the "Vampires." It gave her story a lot of depth. I can honestly say, it was a page turner and I enjoyed each one -- all the way to the end.

I can't wait to start on #2, "New Moon." Thanks Aubrey and Jacki for the recommendation!

Two Proud Parents!

This past weekend, Dean and I traveled from Lincoln City to Redmond to attend Billy's and Robert's special, private Concert to release their new CD "Crysalis." The only people attending were family and invited friends. It was held in a little Yerba Mate shop on the main drag and there was standing room only.

Billy was a little nervous about doing a live show, because this particular group (or duo) is a studio recording duo only. But, if they were nervous, it didn't show. It was a wonderful concert and they both did a great job. I was so engrossed in the program, that I forgot to whip out my camera and take pictures. They got a rousing applause when the short program was finished, and then started all over again for the late-comers so they could hear the whole program.

Dean video'd the entire thing (both times) and plans to make DVD's of the program if any one is interested in one!

One of the highlights of the evening was the wonderful article that was in the Friday Bend Bulletin Newspaper -- Music Section. They did a full page picture plus another full page write up from an interview that they did with the boys. I thought they did a wonderful job. Billy wasn't too sure he liked it. At any rate, the evening was a huge success and Billy's statement after it was all over was, "It was exactly what I wanted it to be!" Way to go, Billy!

Just a little bit about Billy's partner, Robert Kyniston. They have been friends since High School and have been colaborating on this music genre for the past 6 years. Robert is the poet and writes all of the words and the music, and Billy adds the melody line and sings Robert's deeply felt words. They feed off of each other's strengths.

If anyone would like to read the News article, I will email it to you. All in all, this past weekend was one of the best we have had in a very long time and well worth the drive to Redmond (a 4 hour trip).
